Terms of Service
How this website and our 24/7 phone line work, and who is responsible for what.
Last updated
These terms cover your use of this website and the dispatch service Sugarloaf Cooling & Heating provides through it and through our phone line, (321) 478-0693. By using the site or calling us, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who performs the work
Sugarloaf Cooling & Heating connects you with independent licensed HVAC contractors who perform the work. Every HVAC contractor we send is licensed and insured in Florida.
Sugarloaf Cooling & Heating is not an HVAC contractor and does not perform repairs, installations or maintenance. We answer calls, take down the details of your request and pass them to an available independent contractor. The contractor is a separate business, and the agreement for the work is between you and that contractor.
The contractor is responsible for:
- Diagnosing the problem and recommending a repair or replacement.
- Setting the price and collecting payment.
- Pulling any permits the work requires and arranging inspections.
- The quality and safety of the work itself.
- Any workmanship terms they offer, and handling manufacturer warranty registration and claims where applicable.
You can ask the contractor for their Florida license number and verify it with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation before approving any work.
Estimates, pricing and scheduling
The contractor gives you a price after diagnosing the problem and before any work starts. For system replacements, the contractor provides a written quote. You are free to approve or decline. Any diagnostic, trip or after-hours charge is set by the contractor, so ask about it when they contact you.
We answer the phone 24 hours a day and send the nearest available contractor, but we do not guarantee an arrival time or that a contractor will be available for every request. Timing depends on the hour, weather, demand, distance and the parts the job needs. Any time estimate you hear from us or the contractor is a good-faith estimate, not a promise.
Information on this website
Articles, checklists and service descriptions on this site are general guidance for homeowners. They are not a substitute for an on-site diagnosis by a licensed HVAC contractor, because every system and home is different. Do not attempt electrical, refrigerant or gas work yourself. If a page suggests a simple check, such as a thermostat setting or a filter, stop if you are unsure and call for help.
We work to keep the content accurate and current, but codes, equipment standards and product availability change, and we cannot promise that every page reflects the latest change.
Using the site
Please use the site and the contact form only for real service requests and questions. Do not submit false information, someone else's details without their permission, spam or anything unlawful, and do not try to disrupt, copy at scale or gain unauthorized access to the site. The text, design and images on this site belong to us or are used with permission, and may not be reused without our written consent.
No warranty from the website
The website and the dispatch service are provided as is and as available. Sugarloaf Cooling & Heating makes no warranties, express or implied, about the site, its content or its availability, or about the work performed by any contractor. Any warranty on equipment comes from the manufacturer, and any workmanship terms come from the contractor who did the work.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Sugarloaf Cooling & Heating is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, from relying on its content, or from the work, pricing, delays or conduct of an independent contractor. Questions or disputes about a job should go first to the contractor who performed it. We are happy to help you reach them. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited under Florida law.
Links to other websites
The site may mention or link to other websites, such as government licensing tools or manufacturer pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Privacy
How we handle information from calls and forms is explained in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the website or our dispatch service will be handled in the state or federal courts serving Lake County, Florida, unless the law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
